w3c validation - Cannot get my html pass W3 Validator, what is wrong? -

i trying validate 1 page, validator gives me ridiculous errors.

for example attribute name not allowed on element meta @ point.

i using <meta name="description"

the client wants code validated, crazy...

anyone ideas?

i fixed issues, , validating html source returns 2 info messages only.

you main problem seems closing div tag without opening match.

search <a href="#" class="scrolltotop"></a> , remove closing div tag right afterwards.

here's list of fixes applied:

  • closing div tag without opening match (as mentioned)
  • <hgroup> being outdated/deprecated (try replacing div or p (besides div not support nesting hgroup tags (among others) inside it)
  • make <title> tag 1st child in head element

update: seems need define charset first thing before proceeding inside head tag.

also, got rid of http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html". needed ?

i have problem. i own small hosting company. trying add cloudflare site free cdn. problem when sign have change nameservers nameservers. have nameserver dns set through godaddy, how add them cloudflare? main site uses company's nameservers whenever add them site goes offline. when go cloudflare's dns records click on dropdown, click ns, , there's 2 boxes 'name' , 'nameserver'. mean input 'ns1' 'name' , 'ns1.domain.com' 'nameserver'? input server's ip addresses? is there way of accomplishing free version of cloudflare? that impossible. option have custom name servers available on business , enterprise. see https://www.cloudflare.com/plans . also, might mistaken. must change name servers in domain register settings, not on cloudflare.
